A training needs analysis, or TNA, is a structured way of identifying what training your people need, who needs it and where the gaps are, so your organisation can develop a training plan that is evidence based.
A TNA includes looking at all roles and responsibilities, required or recommended training, training already completed, out dated or missing training and preferred ways of learning.
This guidance can help you carry out a training needs analysis (TNA) for your organisation or sports activity.
It includes:
- suggestions on how you can carry out a TNA
- why you should do one
- gap analysis
- staff surveys
- example analysis table
- ways of learning
- key safeguarding topics
- links to training courses
