Sample codes of conduct to use as they are or as a guide when creating your own.

Promote positive behaviour and manage poor behaviour by using codes of conduct.

Each code has been written using age-appropriate language and approaches. For example, the code for young children, up to eight years old is just five simple steps, while the codes for older age groups are move comprehensive.

Why use codes of conduct in sport?

The codes let you set clear expectations for everyone involved in sport, including coaches, parents and carers and the children and young people themselves.

By setting clear expectations of how everyone should behave, they can help keep everyone safe.

For codes of conduct to work effectively, don't just leave them on a shelf - make them part of your regular communication so that the children and adults involved remember what they signed up to.
